What's so funny about association PR?

This hilarious Washington Post article, published last Sunday, about a reporter's conversation with a PR professional representing the National Funeral Directors Association, got some attention in the Public Relations blogosphere last week, but my Google alert just picked it up today. If not for the morbid nature of this particular press release, I suspect it would never have gotten any attention, like most association press releases.

Oh, the press release in question can't be found on the NFDA's web site.
