First news of today's So Cal earthquake broke on Twitter. See image at right. After watching the news come across Twitter, I started this post just to record how social media would cover the event.
Immediately after the Virginia Tech shootings last year, I found that Wikipedia had a lot of information that the MSM didn't, so I made that my first stop. Here's what I found...
Wikipedia links:
- (first link, an entry is made into the daily events for July 29, 2008)
- (second link - dedicated Wikipedia entry)
- (third link - dedicated Wikipedia entry surpasses 100 edits within two ours of event)
- (fourth link - dedicated entry is nominated for deletion)
- (fifth link - dedicated wikipedia entry has name changed)
Please leave a comment or email me if you have more social media coverage of the earthquake. bkmcae at gmail.
