When I travel to DC and have little or no need for a car I like to take the train from Richmond. I like to cut the traffic out of my travel arrangements and some of my dad's environmentalism rubbed off on me, I guess. So that's what I'm doing today. But I always seem to regret the decision while en route. My train is running about an hour late and there's a kid 2 rows behind me who has been yelling HELLO for 2 hours straight. Amtrak so rarely runs on time that I always allow up to 4 hours for what is usually a 2 hour drive. On the plus side, I got to rehearse my presentation and post to my blog. I suppose that doing the 'right thing' is sometimes an invitation for inconvenience.
