Bad, bad blogger

Been real busy. Here's the short version:

  • Ton of business travel
  • Bought a Toyota Prius
  • Working on two ASAE volunteer things
  • Planning for next year's programs at VSCPA
  • Decided to back away from a major initiative at work
  • Had a fantastic all day staff retreat today
  • I'm running our staff meeting tomorrow
  • Board retreat on Thursday
  • Board meeting on Friday
  • Leave for vacation Saturday (BlackBerry stays at home)
  • Return next Saturday
  • Depart for Roanoke next Sunday
  • Back in the office a week from next Wednesday

This might be the last post for a while.

We run our annual board retreat (formerly known as our long-range planning workshop) a couple of weeks prior to our annual staff retreat. Do you find it beneficial to hold them opposite? I'd be interested to hear from others as well.

We hold a planning retreat with our staff before we hold it with the board. The premise is to bring the best staff-generated ideas to our board of directors for their consideration.
