For your career, a blog is essential

In a recent conversation in the Research in Action discussion on virtualization, one of the participants warned:

"I also saw an interesting piece in the February issue of "Money" magazine that mentioned how HR personnel now are scanning sites like MySpace to gather info on job applicants that cannot be legally asked in interviews -- meaning that what you write now has the potential to come back & haunt you later!"

Well, this Boston Globe article touts the upside of blogging to your career. It only makes sense: Companies are blogging to promote themselves, so individuals should blog to promote themselves, too.

Here's yet another reason to keep this blog going.
