We have it so good in America. If you are earning the median salary in the US ($43,389), you are among the top 2% wealthiest people in the word. You can speak freely in opposition or support of our government. You can worship however you like -- or not at all, if you choose.

I'm so thankful for what I've been given. I hope you are, too.

Little-known facts about Thanksgiving:

1. The first Thanksgiving was not held by the pilgrims in New England (1621), but by colonists in Virginia near the site of Berkeley Plantation (1619).
2. Thanksgiving became an official US holiday in the Lincoln administration in the midst of the Civil War.
3. During the Great Depression, Thanksgiving was moved from the last Thursday in November to the 4th Thursday in November to allow for more time for Americans to do their Christmas shopping.

How ever you choose to celebrate Thanksgiving, pause to consider just how blessed you are.
