Leave it to the man who came up with "DUMB goals" and "dissent agenda" to introduce the term "the short tail" to the association community.
Jeff De Cagna implores us to fully consider the long tail and how it might impact associations. I have thought a lot about it, and then wrote about it, and I don't feel the long tail will translate to most associations very well. There are slivers we can take from the long tail theory which can be applied to what associations do, but I believe there are more attainable successes in other strategies. I expect we'll see a rebuttal from Jeff soon (he's probably working on it now). Join in the discussion!
